Vaccine

Vaccinating your pet is important in preventing the spread of disease. We know that not all dogs and cats are exposed to the same things. This is why we take the time to discuss questions and concerns about vaccines with pet owners, and tailor to the specific needs of the pet.

Vaccinations we offer:

  • DHPP (Canine)- This stands for Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. It is recommended that puppies get this vaccine at eight, twelve, and again at sixteen weeks. From that point on it is recommended as a yearly vaccine.
  • Bordetella (Canine)- Also known as kennel cough. This is a vaccine given to dogs who are exposed to many other dogs or ones who frequent boarding/grooming facilities. It can be given once a year. However, some grooming or boarding facilities require it every six months.
  • FVRCP (Feline)- This stands for Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia. It is recommended for kittens to get at eight, twelve, and sixteen weeks. After that it is recommended as a once yearly vaccine.
  • FVRCP/FelV (Feline)- Is a combination shot that includes the same thing as above. Plus feline Leukemia virus. It is recommended once a year.
  • Rabies (Canine/Feline)- This vaccine is required by law. Some cities require it every one year and others every three years.
  • Leptospirosis (Canine)- Recommended for dogs who are exposed to raccoons or other wild animals. It is a once a year vaccine.
  • Lyme (Canine)- Recommended as a yearly vaccine for dogs with high exposure to ticks.
  • Influenza (Canine)- This annual vaccine is recommended for dogs who go to boarding or grooming facilities a lot.
  • P3 Dental Vaccine (Canine)- This vaccine prevents against the bad bacteria that can be in your pet’s mouth. It is also a once a year vaccine.
